Saturday, 21 June 2014
Jeddah, KSA, 21.06.2014 – “Youth Entrepreneurship: From Job Seekers to Job Creators” will be the theme of the Third IDB Group Annual Youth Development Forum to be held on 23 June in conjunction with the 39th Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group in Jeddah. The
Forum will feature panel discussions on “Challenges of Youth Entrepreneurship” and “Opportunities for young entrepreneurs: Learning from role model countries” in which high level decision makers, private sector players, international NGO’s and successful young entrepreneurs and students from various member and non-member countries will participate.
The Forum will lay-out multi-regional perspectives on the challenges and opportunities faced by young entrepreneurs across the Muslim World and will feature unique success stories of young entrepreneurs.
Realizing the importance of youth leading the development transformation of member countries, the IDB Group initiated a framework to intervene in this area and organized the first youth development forum as a platform for knowledge generation and sharing at its annual meeting held in Sudan during April 2012 followed by the second forum at the 38th annual meeting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, May 2013.
This year’s Forum is expected to come out with recommendations which will be considered for implementation by various entities and affiliates of the IDB Group.
