High Impact Entrepreneurship: Following the Entrepreneurial Process

Entrepreneurs transform the way we work and live, from Twitter and Zynga to Facebook and Google.  In all likelihood, each one of us visits one or more of these sites daily.  While these are some of the most well-known companies in the world, they are but extreme examples of an important phenomenon that generates personal and societal wealth.  These companies and the entrepreneurs behind them are called “High Impact Entrepreneurs.”  High impact entrepreneurs are people who launch and grow companies that have an above average impact on job and wealth creation.[1]  High impact firms grow 20% annually in terms of employment, thereby increasing the overall standard of living in a country.  Thus, the key question that policy makers need to understand is how do we create more high impact entrepreneurs?
